Bike Repair Question
I need to adjust my GRX600 brake levers. The levers hit the handlebars when I pull on the all the way.
The Dealer's Manual says the free stroke on this model cannot be adjusted, and the screw the exists on newer versions doesn't exist on the 600 levers.
Is the only way to adjust the free stroke to refill and re-bleed the brakes?

A story about bicycle repair and bottom brackets. #BikeRepair #BikeTooter
4 days of soaking in PB blaster, and a Park Tool BBT-22, and finally got this crank off. Sprayed some PB Blaster down the tube, which seemed to have helped to remove the internal rust. #BikeRepair #BikeTooter
@MrPDaniel @intrepidhero @MightyRedPanda HA! I've never seen one of those broken like that! You just need the right one. This is either a Shimano Tourney RD-TX800 8-speed (direct mount) derailler, about $15, or Shimano Tourney RD-A070 7-speed (direct mountain derailleur). You'll need to look at home many gears on the shifters and/or the rear cogs. It's Shimano because it's marked Dual SIS. Could also be six speed, I guess. #BikeRepair #BikeTooter
What bike tool am I missing now? LOL.
(Update: 20-spline bottom bracket too, Park's BBT-20 or Pedro's Splined 20-tooth).
Learned you can (edit: on most bicycles) adjust your bicycle stem up and down for height. #BikeTooter #BikeRepair
Free 1974 Fuji Special Tourer bicycle restoration, done! It's kinda loud, ha ha. My first attempt at repainting a bicycle with a custom paint job. #BikeTooter #BikeRepair #BikeRestoration
Progress on the bicycle restoration continues. 1974 Fuji that was free from Craigslist in many, many rusty pieces. Brake cable came, blue! Chain secured. Still waiting for the shift cable. #BikeRestoration #BikeRepair #BikeTooter
#Random bike repair lesson of the day:
Make sure you buy a chain with enough links, bought a chain with only 104 links, needed one with 112 links. Had no idea there were different sizes.
(Update: decided to go for it, blue brake cables and blue shifter cables, hopefully similar blue LOL... ordered off eBay from random small businesses).
Today's hard #BikeRepair #BikeRestoration decisions:
1. Switch out the 1974 shifter and brake cable housings? (from 1974, white, yellowing)
2. If so, go for blue (complementary to yellow and orange), or back to white?
(currently leaning towards blue, since I just custom painted this bike, might as well go 100% on the non-standard colors LOL)
Current status on my 1974 Fuji bicycle rebuild. Need to pull the rear wheel again and re-center the axle, I should have measured the original bolt distances from other side. Too much bolt on the freewheel side. Need to reconnect shifters, brakes, and mount a chain. But will fix the axle first. #BikeRepair #BikeRestoration #BikeTootern
Disaster- stripped a bolt! But then I remembered the metric tap and die I bought ages ago in a garage sale!! Saved! (Irreplaceable part, too, probably... strangely shaped pin for the cranks). #BikeRepair #BikeRestoration
Disassembled and cleaned, greased the rear hub as well, the magic Suntour hub remover arrived. #BikeRepair
Many (many!) rounds of degreasing required to clean all these. Yuck. #BikeRepair #BikeTooter
Reassembled the front fork, at least. New Kool Stop brake pads. Clearcoat applied to the fork, but still curing. Learned I definitely need the frame to be 100% dry before clear coat, otherwise you risk cracking your paint when the clear coat softens it temporarily. #BikeRepair #BikeRestoration #BikeTooter
