Farhad ☮️🆓🇵🇸Last year while walking my dog, I found a couple of cut off pieces of these plants on the sidewalk of our town. Someone had cut them off and dropped them on the street. Brought them home, cleaned them up, removed some leafs and put it in pots on my balcony. The App PlantNet identifies it as Heartleaf iceplant" or " Baby sun rose" (گل ناز یخی) They have been growing beautifully since then and giving me cute pretty red flowers that turns into a slightly larger lighter red /dark pink color before drying out. FarhadLast year after a heavy storm, a branch of a tree broke in the park next door. I asked the Gardner if I could take it & he agreed. Brought it home to the <a href="https://pixelfed.automat.click/discover/tags/balcony?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#balcony</a>. planned it in a large pot with mix of old soil and compost. Months later, all the leaves fell & I thought it was dead, but today I saw 3 new branches growing from the soil. 🪴Still obsessed with how the hanging baskets have turned out this year 🤩 A few people have asked what the secret it, but I’m not going to pretend that I completely know what I’m doing 😂 … but I think the key is…. ✅ Water retaining granules sprinkled in at the start with the potting mix (I just used whatever was cheapest!) ✅ A handful of slow release fertiliser mixed in ✅ Water every day! 💦 ✅ A good old deadhead every other day (definitely with Petunias)✂️ 🌸 ✅ A liquid feed every week (I’ve been using Micracle Grow) Apart from that just winging it and hoping it lasts until the end of summer! FarhadIn Farsi, we call this Khar Zahre (poison of the donkey), I have no idea why. It's Oleander in English and it comes in different colors. We have them everywhere in south of France. Just like in the south of Iran where I was born.Picked up a broken branch from the street last spring and put it into a pot.It rooted and this year it's blooming.
