Daniela Kubesch<p>Because I just heard it in a conf talk (again): </p><p>🚨No, the <a href="https://front-end.social/tags/EAA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EAA</span></a> is not just WCAG 2.2! 🚨</p><p>➡️ The European Accessibility Act (EAA) covers <a href="https://front-end.social/tags/digital" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>digital</span></a> and <a href="https://front-end.social/tags/physical" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>physical</span></a> products and services, such as websites, apps, ATMs, ticket machines and more.<br> <br>➡️ Rather than referencing WCAG versions directly, the EAA aligns with the European standard <a href="https://front-end.social/tags/EN301549" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EN301549</span></a>. Currently, it officially incorporates WCAG 2.1 (Levels A and AA) but is in the process of being updated to WCAG 2.2 in 2025/26.</p>
