I just got into biking again as an adult, and I’m loving it!
Now I’m on the hunt for a simple open source app to track how far I ride. Bonus points if it’s on GitHub, if not, at least F-Droid works. If there’s nothing bike-specific, I’m cool with any travel or hiking tracker too.
I use a Pixel 9a with GrapheneOS.

I'd say this is an opportunity for #FOSS maintainers to collaborate taking advantage of. These companies that have been fortunate to earn tons of money by using open software without contributing back, can no longed do that if they want to keep doing business in the EU.
What could be a good EU based FOSS interest group to manage this smartly, collect _fees_ to distribute to maintainer of the used software.

Dropdown menus render exactly right. Also some room for improvement there behaviourally speaking.
Not a minor aspect now, considering that the last re-write has seen a clean separation of the UI logic and the backend. I could try an alternative backend in GL or SDL as a canary to ensure the app-level code always remains backend-independent.
With some room for improvement ui-wise, but most ui elements are almost working

Some desk jockey got the questions from corporate, and decided to push them to the FOSS components they’re using.
@bagder know this perfectly well, but for everyone else:
If you develop #FOSS, and you get demands like this, tell them to either pay for your time, or fuck off.
They are in no position to demand anything from you.
Finally managed to properly install Caesar III under #Linux, to run under the open source re-implementation of the gaming engine, #Augustus. It wasn't as straightforward under Linux due to case sensitivity on files, and a special tool to unarchive shielded .cab files, but it worked at the end thanks to the wiki. Bear in mind, the game requires the original artwork from 1998 (easily found online).

It's ridiculous that an org promoting open ed and content does not use any OS apps.
I'm happy to announce Commitoria, a little web service and library to aggregate and visualise your git contribution activity independently of your hosting platform. I hope the tool might be of some practical use to some people. The topic itself is somewhat political as it's also about decentralisation and therefore software freedom.
