For ages, I didn’t know why this date was chosen to be the transition from one tax year to the next but it turns out the reason is that it’s from the old ecclesiastical <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/calendar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>calendar</span></a> with an adjustment made from the old style (Julian) to the new style (Gregprian) calendar.</p>
