Fenix<p>All open source free software has been working without any problems so far. I have revived an old friend. It feels like coming home after so many years.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/euphoria" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>euphoria</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/turbopascal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>turbopascal</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/turboc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>turboc</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/dataperfect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dataperfect</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/freepascal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freepascal</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/freebasic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>freebasic</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/bwbasic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bwbasic</span></a></p>
Profoundly Nerdy<p>Those of you who like and continue to use <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/BASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BASIC</span></a>, what do you like? What do you miss when you're coding in something else? Yes, embedded BASIC dialects count. </p><p>Do you think BASIC still has life left in it?</p><p><a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/programming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>programming</span></a> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/FreeBASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeBASIC</span></a> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/qbasic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>qbasic</span></a> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/vb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vb</span></a> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/vba" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vba</span></a></p>
Profoundly Nerdy<p>I wish <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/FreeBASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeBASIC</span></a> had an interpreter mode. There is just something to he said about being able to write a shabang line and just code. </p><p> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/BASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BASIC</span></a> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/Programming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Programming</span></a></p>

Profoundly Nerdy<p>What is your preferred dialect of <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/BASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BASIC</span></a>, modern or otherwise? I like what <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/FreeBASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeBASIC</span></a> is upto. It seems fairly popular from a user base standpoint but it seems to be lean on developers. </p><p><a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/programming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>programming</span></a> <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a></p>
Jared<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://bitbang.social/@SinclairSpeccy" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>SinclairSpeccy</span></a></span> There are so many dialects. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_BASIC_dialects" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_</span><span class="invisible">BASIC_dialects</span></a> And you do have modern ones, like <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/FreeBASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeBASIC</span></a> and <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/QB64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>QB64</span></a> that are actively maintained. It’s an incredible world that honestly has grown more in recent years with the rise of <a href="https://bitbang.social/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a>.</p>
