So long as too many people are harping about homeless people and not homelessness, nothing will change.
Today in Jesus fucking Christ I hope your house burns to the ground:
The housed residents around this encampment apparently came up with a suggestion to CUT DOWN ALL THE TREES in this park so that the unhoused people had no shade and would have to leave.
Up early doing #CommunityDefence which doesn't involve arson.
Edited because voice-text and too tired to proofread. Expect some very specific ranting later today.
Toronto should bring back dedicated cooling centres for unhoused people, & delivery of bottles of water to them
"... without that dedicated infrastructure, we're talking about going to a children's splash pad, going to a swimming pool when you probably are going to be stigmatized & not allowed in that space, or going to a shopping mall where you may actually be profiled"

Property is theft.
No one should own the land, it's such a stupid concept.
Make everything accessible for everyone.
Destroy capitalism!

we need to **make** city councillors pass this rule.
"Toronto Heat Safety, a coalition of tenant advocacy groups, health experts and environmental organizations, came together last year to demand that the city establish a 26 C max temperature to prevent residents from developing any health problems from heat, including heart and breathing problems."

Homelessness isn't a crime!
Join other decent people for a rally on May 29th at 11:30 am at Queen's Park to send a message to Premier Ford: Rescind Bill 6! Homeless people need affordable housing — not jail time and $10,000 fines!
It isn't a #HousingCrisis, "crisis" leaves the ones with power to do something about it off the hook. It is a Project and is going as planned. #DerelictIreland
The housing shortage is used by the far-right to scapegoat immigrants (inciting violence!) when in reality this issue is decades old. Soooo many ramifications stem from this cruelty.

60,000 Americans to lose their rental assistance and risk eviction unless Congress acts
By JESSE BEDAYN, April 21, 2025
"Moments after Daniris Espinal walked into her new apartment in Brooklyn, she prayed. In ensuing nights, she would awaken and touch the walls for reassurance — finding in them a relief that turned to tears over her morning coffee.
"Those walls were possible through a federal program that pays rent for some 60,000 families and individuals fleeing #homelessness or #DomesticViolence. Espinal was fleeing both.
"But the program, #EmergencyHousingVouchers, is running out of money — and quickly.
"Funding is expected to be used up by the end of next year, according to a letter from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and obtained by The Associated Press. That would leave tens of thousands across the country scrambling to pay their rent.
"It would be among the largest one-time losses of #RentalAssistance in the U.S., analysts say, and the ensuing evictions could churn these people — after several years of rebuilding their lives — back onto the street or back into abusive relationships."

And back in the city in time for... an encampment clearing.
Imagine making $107,000/year ripping down people's meagre shelters and stealing their few belongings. That's the lowest salary among these assholes.
Also, Kyle (in the blue, running away) would like it known that he is "uncomfortable" with people filming him as he lies to encampment residents about the likelihood of being housed, and threatening them.
And yeah, they have the public order unit chilling on standby.
