🪬Bat-ptist🫧Finis la trilogie <a href="https://mastodon.zaclys.com/tags/Silo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Silo</a> de <a href="https://mastodon.zaclys.com/tags/HughHowey" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HughHowey</a> c’est dommage, il manque une critique construite de la hiérarchie sociale qu’il a pourtant bien dessinée au sein des silos. Alors qu’au début, on entrevoit une critique de l’exploitation des porteurs et des ouvriers des machines. Finalement c’est une fille de docteur encanaillée et un député repentit qui vont sauver les silos. Rien ne vient jamais d’en bas. Il faut guider les masses: les « éclairés » se chargent du boulot.

BETTER. you don't think it can possibly get better AND THEN IT DOES.These books sold me on Hugh Howey. My OCD gets mainlined with good authors and he's no exception, I've read nearly everything he's written. And keep finding more and I know I have to catch up now, too.These books aren't known to me as Silo, I think of them as Wool, Wool II (Shift), and Wool III (Dust). :) So when I see <a href="https://c.im/tags/silo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#silo</a> I have to translate that to <a href="https://c.im/tags/wool" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#wool</a> Immediately after I finished this trilogy I devoured the Sand series, plus fanfic. Then I chomped through all his space stuff, which is some of his BEST stuff. Not Wool-level mindblowing (imho), but still ... his universe building is like watercolor paints. Half Way Home is spectacular.And guess what? There's another show. Beacon 23, that's the same author. I don't know if it's as good, but I wanna see it. I found most of them to be intelligent, credible, and heartfelt.I enjoyed all of the stories, but the real gems were at the end.Select Characters overwhelmed me. More of a near future scenario with white guy™️ protagonist constantly failing up until he has the power over all of our lives. None of the characters are particularly sympathetic, and like the first book, some parts went on too long: could’ve been a full third shorter at least. MarcosTwo episodes in, and I'm pretty happy so far with "Silo". I can see directions of changes, but so far, I'm pretty good with it. As always, if you haven't read the book series, I highly recommend the Wool omnibus.
