Florida jury on Friday found Tesla liable in the 2019 fatal crash of an Autopilot-equipped Model S, & ordered #ElonMusk's automaker to pay $329M to the family of a deceased woman & an injured survivor.
The payout includes $129M of compensatory damages & $200M of punitive damages.
Tesla was sued by the estate of Naibel Benavides Leon, & by her former boyfriend Dillon Angulo.

In Nov, a federal #jury found Brett Hankison, the #Louisville #police officer, #guilty of violating #BreonnaTaylor’s #CivilRights during a March 2020 police raid in which she was fatally shot, becoming the first officer directly involved in the case to be convicted on #criminal charges.

Edward Kelley was the 4th rioter to breach the Capitol on #Jan6 & was convicted of assaulting #law enforcement & other charges after a trial in DC last year in which the #FBI alleged that he was armed w/a #handgun when he breached the Capitol. Kelley was then separately convicted by a fed #jury in #Tennessee of #conspiracy to #murder employees of the #UnitedStates, solicitation to commit a #crime of #violence & influencing or retaliating against fed ofcls by threat.
The 9 unnamed #FBI agents who filed the lawsuit on Tues alleged, "The purpose for this list is to identify agents to be #terminated or to suffer other adverse employment action."
