Local news reporting on new #cancer treatment but not reporting on lack of #masking at cancer clinics & not reporting on people getting sicker after going to #oncology appointments at cancer clinics.

So fucked up.

When #parents won't #MaskUp - they teach their #children to not be safe with their #health too. They also teach their kids to not care about others in the community. I'm blown away by how many parents are OK with exposing themselves & their kids to several preventable, airborne illnesses, including covid. They're risking death & disabilities on themselves & their kids.

Our #PublicHealth system is already overburdened & understaffed. We have many former health care workers with long covid & they never returned to work. We are nowhere near prepared to deal with many future cases of long covid & the 2ndary illnesses & disabilities that more people will suffer from - because they aren't being #CovidSafe.

Our government & mainstream media has stopped reporting facts on covid & on long covid. They want the public to forget about it. Which means dismissing the lives of disabled people like me & many others, who are still being covid safe.

I have sent this email to the medical clinic & CCed news media too. I am direct as fuck.

I wonder how many people will be masked up at the medical clinic this morning when I go to my doctor's appointment.

Accompanied my Mom to doctor's appointment this morning. This was mainly for getting another prescription for her recurring gout issue. She got a physical checkup too. Her doctor & his MOA were masked up. None of the other medical clinic staff & no other patients were masked.

Location of masking report: Burnside Medical Clinic - office in lower part of building - there's a different office with same name on main level.

This is my latest #MaskUp #selfie - from the back passenger seat of a taxi. With my last KN95 mask - all my remaining ones are N95s. I have thousands stocked up from last year.

The first in office appointment with my new family doctor has just been booked for this Friday morning. I have the first appointment of the day & the doctor has assured me that he & staff will be masked up, as I've requested
I tend to ask for first slot of the morning when booking medical appointments - to avoid running into a bunch of unmasked patients in waiting rooms.

I'll be asking if he will consider taking on my youngest brother as a new patient too because that bro still doesn't have a family doctor. He's been on the government waitlist for 2+ years.

I'm off to get mammogram now & then working on updating client files all afternoon. Remote(safer) work today
