"Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa had a grim message for her constituents furious over proposed cuts to Medicaid that could end health coverage for millions of Americans."

The stunningly callous cruelty is the point!

The Independent · ‘Well, we all are going to die’: GOP senator’s stark mic drop to town hall over Medicaid cutsPar Alex Woodward

Asked about Medicaid and SNAP cuts killing people, Joni Ernst replied: 'Well we all are going to die' then smirks and grins.

“People will die,” a woman shouted at the stage as Ernst answered one of several questions about the cuts.

“...we all are going to die, so for heaven’s sake,” Ernst said with a smirk in a response that was met by further shouts and jeering from the crowd.

“We are all going to die.”

If your senator is a #GOP ghoul like #JoniErnst, they need to hear from the constituents they’re betraying with #Trump’s #TaxScam

"Diana Alfaro, associate executive director of Central City Neighborhood Partners, a nonprofit that helps people enroll in public benefits and services, says some of her low-income clients in Los Angeles who rely on Medi-Cal are employed — but not always in “typical” paying jobs. They are housekeepers, gardeners, construction workers and others who don’t have a regular paycheck or a single employer."

“For those who are able-bodied with no dependents and you choose not to try to make that effort to go get a job, go to school or volunteer, do something in your community, yeah you’re probably going to be affected by this, but the average person who is working really hard to provide for their family thinks that’s the right thing to do,” Valadao said."

CalMatters: Medicaid work rules could leave a million Californians with no health insurance

"Rep. David Valadao, a California Republican who represents portions of the San Joaquin Valley that have some of the highest Medicaid enrollment, told ABC’s Bakersfield affiliate that work requirements are a fair ask."

CalMatters · Medicaid work rules could leave a million Californians with no health insuranceA proposal in Congress would require some adults to document 80 hours a month of work. Experts say the red tape and paperwork is so cumbersome that even people who work will lose Medi-Cal.

Here is another protest involving mutual aid. On Sunday in Orange Country they're going to be protesting to save #Medicaid and #trans #healthcare. At the same time, they're collecting supplies that will help the unhoused community.

All these causes are interconnected in a movement that's fundamentally about inequality.

I am 100% sure that nobody here needs me to point out how repugnant Sean Hannity is, especially when referring to healthcare as "cancer."

So what I'd like to say instead is: holy shit. This is the propaganda after you've scraped all the way THROUGH the bottom of the barrel.

He's not even TRYING to say they aren't taking away #Medicaid like #GOP Congress critters are trying to say at town halls

I don't think his viewers on Medicaid will be convinced. 🤔

Dems should listen to Dave Dayen and leverage the Senate’s own dysfunction against it. These are desperate times.
