JustGLyn clarified what I couldn’t articulate that what the NCC has created here is a third space. The <a href="https://mas.to/tags/NCC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NCC</a> has most MUPs and other access blocked off and everything is cattle chutes using security fencing on both sides with no exits for 100s of metres. Also dead ends where it’s unclear where to go. If anything happens to panic the crowd tonight, this is going to be very dangerous. Stay on the open streets!

JimIt was great to be able to get out on the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Ottawa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Ottawa</a> canal. Yay!But when the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/NCC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NCC</a> said that it would be “open at 9 am” I was expecting that the gates at the stairs wouldn’t be locked at 10:30 am with benches only being setup around noon.Climbing over that gates with everyone else didn’t end up being a big deal and it was great to be on the ice.
