The ash-throated flycatchers are being kept very busy catching enough bugs to feed their chicks. I don't know how many chicks are inside the box, but the parents are both bringing food every few minutes, all day. I love watching them fly and listening to their calls.

Two ash-throated flycatchers at a nest box. They're medium-small birds with red-brown head, back, tail and wings, grey neck and belly shading to white then pale yellow near the vent. They have slight crests, head feathers fluffed up. One flycatcher is clinging to the nest box entrance hole, about to enter, with a large green bug (probably a grasshopper) in its bill; the other is sitting on the metal T-shaped structure (an old laundry drying line) to which the nest box is attached by ropes; this bird has a much smaller insect in its bill, though it's hard to see that.
