Reminder that opening #Phoronix comment sections is not advised without a hazard suit.

I don't understand why they even have that comment section. It's completely useless.

It's like having an broken sewer pipe spraying shit everywhere under your news stand.

Following Wedson departure and @lina message yesterday, here is the phoronix forum where filth and vitriol rains supreme among certain users.

phoronix.com/news/Rust-Linux-M

174 Comments and counting, most are absolute trash, reflecting the reason why Rust Linux contributors are getting exhausted by this nonsense.
What is wrong in our industry...

I found one comment that is very likely applicable to 80% of the other comments:

:windows: Microsoft: an irresposible company - its effects once again tried to be reduced by Linux development 👍

◉The Remote Network Driver Interface Specification (RNDIS) is a security concern
◉This protocol built atop USB for virtual Ethernet functionality may now get disabled for Linux mainline

Linux 6.5 - improved handling for Intel's hybrid CPUs /w hyper threading :atom:

The patches were queued today into TIP's sched/core Git branch - v6.5 kernel cycle should kick off in early July.

What more notable? Better handling on Meteor Lake. Meteor Lake needed special handling with its CPUs of different maximum frequency.

::: GPU's & gaming - Intel ARC 📶

Did you know? - There's 3rd player on the pitch now amongst AMD & Nvidia.

Intel ARC's are indeed discrete GPUs marketed for the gaming market.

Though all these are non-free multi billion corporation's - more competition potentially lowers the consumer prices, too? :thaenkin:

Will RISC-V rise up to the perfromance computing sooner than later?

I started using FireFox since before 1.0 because I hated browser monoculture, IE at the time. I now am adamant about using it still for the exact same reason with the new browser monoculture of Chrome. I do wish that FireFox performed better against Chrome than it did. It's essentially half as performant. It's still more than enough performant for almost anyone's needs, pretty much dead heat with WASM, and slightly better with HTML5 Canvas. So I still recommend it to anyone even if I have strong ideological reasons for my adamant usage. #firefox #chrome #browsers #benchmark #phoronix www.phoronix.com/news/Firefox-…
