Watching the Pompey versus Hull City match and the logo of Hull City - nicknamed "The Tigers" - was clearly designed by someone who'd never seen a tiger before. There's something of the medieval illustrator doing his best from a description feel about it.
Going to be a day of sport on the TV with plenty of cups of tea to rehydrate. Just caught the second half of the final game of the #NRL Magic Round - great finish - and there's now #Pompey taking on Hull in the final #EFL game of the season to be followed by three #SuperLeague Magic Weekend matches.
Happy to say that not only was the boss of the roofers we used a big #Pompey fan and active in the local charity community here, but he also went to the Montgomery Scott School Of Miracle Workers when estimating how long it would all take. Those three days were under two in the end and they replaced some other broken tiles elsewhere and cleaned our guttering out too for no extra cost. All paid this evening and just waiting to hear when the scaffolders will remove their equipment.
And that's it. 1-0 to Pompey and we are most definitely staying up.
Still not a fan of fucking about in the corner to waste time at the end of a match, though.
10 minutes to go. Could do with a spell of possession really. Cameras focusing on Westwood in the stand. Please don't do that. He is an embarrassment to the club and city.
Chances for both teams, and now Watford down to ten. Not much in the offending tackle for me but he was the last defender and I'm not going to be too upset by the result.
1-0 at the half. Almost mathematically safe. Thought we started the best but Watford looking pretty comfortable as the half has progressed.
Cracking shot from the unfortunately-named Watford player, Louza, just tipped a fraction onto the bar by Schmid. Would've been a stunning goal and I'm rather glad it wasn't.
Watford keeper parries a cross out, Bishop's there to head it at the goal, the keeper saves again but only knocks it back onto Bishop's head where it bounces straight into the net and I'm not sure how much Bishop knew about that one. They all count. 1-0.
One minute. That's all we needed to hang on for. Good goal for your lot, though, and we'd had a chance just before that to nick it against the run of play. Can't say Coventry didn't deserve it but a horrible gut punch for us.
0-0 at the half. Reasonably even. Both teams with periods of possession and chances, Coventry with the best of them although Pompey going closest, and Coventry definitely should've had a penalty too.
#Pompey on the TV and we're not even going to have a drink. Given how much drinking we did on our recent cruise we've been horribly adult and decided to give our livers a holiday too for the rest of the month.
Final whistle. Great goal to give us some hope, but not quite enough in the end.
Were we the better team? Yes. Does the score reflect that? No. Is that football? Sadly.
11 minutes of added time to play after Plymouth's injuries and "injuries" and other time-wasting. Can't blame them for doing it, but nice to see it's not rewarded.
What a goal! 1-2.
Well, these five minutes either side of the half time break have been frustrating. 0-2 now.
Damn it. Was just about to say there's not much between the teams heading towards the half but we've just conceded. Still early. Ish.
Pompey's keeper Nicolas Schmid was outstanding against Leeds recently and he's already made another fabulous save in this one.
The so-called "Dockyard Derby" on TV, courtesy of Sky Sports+ through the Virgin TiVo box, and that means just one important thing: we've opened the beer on a school night.
