@mastobada étant contractuellement obligé de citer mon groupe favori (et en plus ça sort de mon album favori d’eux, c’est nickel) :

The Pretty Things – It’s So Hard (1980)

"I see a ship and it is coming down the Thames
Up and down up and down here it comes again
In my binoculars the CAPTAIN looks sweet
He has tattoos on his arm, and he’s really neat"

THE CARS
Greatest Hits
1985 Canada pressing

One of the greatest bands to ever come from my hometown gets last spin of the night.

Sometimes, you just need some bangers. And The Cars have SO many.
These dudes just wrote so many phenomenal friggin’ songs, and each dude was so singularly spectacular at what they did, that there are few bands in the history of rock that were perfectly locked in with each other.

When we play those dumb fictional fantasy rock games with our friends, and we get asked questions like “What’s one band you’d love to see live more than any other from any time in history?”, my answer for that is ALWAYS The Cars.
Their days of regularly performing live was just a smidge before my time.
I will fucking love them forever and ever til I’m dead.
By the way, how is “Double Life” not on here? Was that not technically a hit?
THATS BULLSHIT.

The prompt is #Jerk

Caesar’s Palace, “Jerk It Out” from "Love for the Streets" 2002

This track is utterly, totally derivative of #60s early psychedelia, and utterly, totally perfect, from the swirling #Farfisa #organ out front to those shakers chasing and spicing the beat.

You may know this Swedish band as #Caesars but they originally recorded under the name Caesar’s Palace (with a couple of US releases as The Twelve Caesars).

This track first appeared on their 2002 release Love for the Streets, and they wisely included it on the rebranded band’s ‘debut’ album “Paper Tigers” in 2005, where it’s most widely available (albeit not on the sole vinyl release, nor the Swedish CD).

I knew them first from Paper Tigers, #PowerPop that makes it hard to sit still, with some of their earlier, grittier #GarageRock feel still intact. Whatever the name, wherever you find them, these guys get the job done.
