@gwb

(Linux news in original post)

I ask the Linux community to support this cause: Proton has been offering native clients for Windows and macOS for their Proton Drive for years - but still none for Linux!

This company claims to be fighting against Big Tech and for privacy, and forgets about the ONLY platform that really guarantees data protection and privacy. And treats Linux very neglectfully. Surely that can't be possible? What about you, Proton? Is everything really consecrated to the mainstream and the god of sales?

The more Linux users in the Proton community get involved, the sooner a native application for Linux will hopefully be available. Please share and spread the word! Thank you, folks!

The Voice of the Proton CommunityLinux ClientProton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

@rhys this is probably a stupid question, but what is the difference between syncing and backups when it comes to cloud storage? I suppose I could just use #protondrive as an archive, so periodically copy data into it as needed, alongside copying the same data to an external drive.

Can anyone help me?

I want to have multiple copies of my photo archive. I have a #Mac & want to keep the local photos synced with an external hard drive plus a cloud backup.

I don't want Apple Photos because I want photos stored as jpgs in a normal file structure.

I thought #ProtonDrive would be the answer. But it seems there's no easy way to ensure that every photo is always synced so it is stored locally and in the cloud automatically.

Any suggestions?
