Pope Francis, died after an extended respiratory illness on April 21, the Vatican confirmed. He was 88 years old.
While not Catholic, I am still sad today. This was a #pope I was able to relate to, despite all the criticism one might have. Easter is the celebration of hope, life, and resurrection in the face of death. He symbolized that well in his last days and I wish him the peace he deserves now and all of us a worthy successor - we may need it more than we think. #rip

Pope Francis wasn’t a Nazi or a fascist like Pope Rat and Pope Nazi before him.
but he was un católico latinoamericano y sobre todo, argentino. and he was a man, a patriarchal man, in all his inconsistent and contradictory glory.

just want the semi-lapsed catholics out there know, he was indeed the most progressive pope ever.
