or if you are on a NVME drive
nvme sanitize /dev/nvmeX -a start-crypto-erase

On a dessoudé un BIOS de laptop HS donné par l'hôpital de la ville d'à côté, reprogrammé cette EEPROM, ressoudé la chose et redémarré la machine ! Pas si compliquée cette réparation

Pour remettre un système d'exploitation sur la machine on a utilisé un nouveau gadget : un stockage NVME dans un adaptateur USB.
En choisissant le bon port USB, la machine démarre plus vite en live que depuis son SSD SATA interne une fois l'installation terminée !! (en un temps record)

Hunting down the correct drivers is not always the easiest thing. Finding SATA drivers (you know where you press F6 during the Windows XP install) was a nightmare, but found the correct floppy image eventually!

@neil @ai6yr @restic I'd say an external #SATA-SSD in an enclosure with #brtfs or "journalless #ext4" works fine.

• Maybe consider a cheap multi-port case with #HDDs and using #dmraid for #RAID-based failsafe?

Along similar lines, a decent USB-C extension cable (I know it's not in the spec, who cares) would be a welcome recommendation.

Are there any reasonably priced #Arm boards for home #NAS and #docker use? Or is there a good reason to wait? If yes, for what?

I'd want maybe 4-8 #SATA ports, optionally a fancy #SSDs slot, and at least 16 GiB of #ram better 32 GiB.

Optimized to running 24/7 for a decade or so without interrupting other than system upgrades.
