Alan Johnston, KU2Y<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://raspberrypi.social/@Raspberry_Pi" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Raspberry_Pi</span></a></span> Nice article! Pi’s are great for ground station and also to build functional models of CubeSats for the classroom, such as my AMSAT CubeSat Simulator open source project <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/CubeSatSim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CubeSatSim</span></a>. I sent you an email with some details. By the way, I’m sure you have hear of <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/SatNOGS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SatNOGS</span></a> as well - an amazing project you can do with a Raspberry Pi</p>
AI6YR Ben<p>Ha, forgot I had a number of Cushcraft 406Mhz omni gain antennas in the backyard, so putting up a <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/Sondehub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sondehub</span></a> station for <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/wx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wx</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/weather" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>weather</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/balloon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>balloon</span></a> reception was simple (threw it onto the same machine I am running <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/SatNOGS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SatNOGS</span></a> on... will see how that goes!). <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a></p>

AI6YR Ben<p>Oooh, lots of Linux voodoo here, the documentation is incomplete and not very clear in spots. Path issues... steps missing. Almost there! They need a technical writer to walk through this. <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/SatNOGS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SatNOGS</span></a></p>
AI6YR Ben<p>Scheduled my first observation on <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/SatNOGS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SatNOGS</span></a>, we'll see if anything actually shows up or not!!</p>
AI6YR Ben<p>Weekend radio project. Decided to try putting a <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/SatNOGS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SatNOGS</span></a> station online, using the egg beater antenna I was gifted, a laptop with no functional keyboard, and a <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/rtlsdr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rtlsdr</span></a> card I had sitting around. About to see if this works without a LNA.</p>
Dwingeloo Radio Telescope bot<p>The Dwingeloo @radiotelescoop just observed the satellite Geoscan-Edelveis as a <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/SatNOGS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SatNOGS</span></a> ground station (while tracking the satellite). The software demodulated 1771 Mode U - GFSK9k6 packets.
