It's heartening to see so many people standing up for science, not just at the official events in the United States, but also at gatherings being held in other countries.Why am I going to the rally? Because I value weather forecasts, vaccines, volcano monitoring, and many other gifts that science gives us. I also value the scientists working to bring us those gifts. I want scientists employed by the federal government to be allowed to publish timely information on important subjects like the spread of avian influenza.
