ChiefGyk3D<p>I really like the grouping of likes and boosts with the new Mastodon upgrade. It makes my notifications feed FAR less cluttered. Now if only we could get that full support for federated blocklists we can subscribe to officially built in rather than Ad-Hoc that would be amazing. </p><p>The blocklisting should be similar to PfBlockerNG on my Pfsense IMHO. <a href="https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/packages/pfblocker.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/la</span><span class="invisible">test/packages/pfblocker.html</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/InfoSec" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>InfoSec</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/cybersecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cybersecurity</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/Fediblockmeta" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fediblockmeta</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/serveradmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>serveradmin</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/selfhosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosting</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/spam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spam</span></a></p>
ChiefGyk3D<p>Looks like the spam attacks are picking up steam. These are all the ones I had filtered. You can’t possibly expect small and medium servers to keep up with moderating this, there definitely has to be a priority for blocklists we can subscribe to similar to how PfSense firewalls work and Bluesky apparently already has.</p><p><a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/fediblockmeta" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fediblockmeta</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/spam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spam</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/serveradmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>serveradmin</span></a></p>
ChiefGyk3D<p>I really think there needs to be an implemention of shared blocklisting where we can federate blocks from sources we choose. Apparently Bluesky has some features related to this, and I think it needs to be revisited to help for some of these spam attacks. This is the second wave of spam attacks. It's still small, but it may amplify and become as problematic as a few months ago. </p><p><a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/Fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fediverse</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/Fediblockmeta" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fediblockmeta</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/spam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spam</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/mastoadmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mastoadmin</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/serveradmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>serveradmin</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/Infosec" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Infosec</span></a> <a href="https://social.chiefgyk3d.com/tags/cybersecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cybersecurity</span></a></p>
