Was sorting through a pile of fabric pieces and came across this fabric panel decorated with iron-on vinyl and eyelets to look like a microbit. It was supposed to be part of a bag, but I never got around to completing it. The eyelets are spaced to hold an LEDs string behind them. Now I'm thinking it might look cute sewn to the back of a denim jacket.

Today's procrastimake was inspired by the frigid weather (elsewhere in the US, as I'm in SoCal) and the heads up (pun intended) from @Jorvon_Moss that tomorrow is National Hat Day. Seems like a good time to start sewing an LED string into a band to attach to a fleece cap.

A bad picture just to show you that I've finished sewing the dress and the cape.
Next time I'll show you in action! In Paris streets!
The recent flurry of sewing projects has come full circle. It started with a crossbody bag that looked like an addressable LED (https://mastodon.social/@geekmomprojects/110929578697233525)
Today I sewed a zippered tote bag (no electronics, but still cute) that looks like a standard LED. I think it's all out of my system now. Maybe.

Looking through some older sewing projects, I found this micro:bit computer bag I sewed years ago. The DIY LED matrix I made (before super flexible LED strings existed) was broken, so I replaced it with a flexible string (see next post for matrix picture), and now it is functional and sturdier than before.

The sewing experiments continue. This latest case has capacity for two sets of glasses.

Wanted to make a little historically inspired accessory, so enter the linen pointed belt. Of course I had to make one side spooky so it's reversible with spiderwebs on one side and plain on the other. It also ties at the back so it's nice and adjustable.
After several failed attempts using a complicated technique, I successfully sewed a simple pattern to make a SMD resistor phone case. I forget to fully include the seam allowance in the size computation, so it just barely fits my phone. It makes a nice set along with my PTH resistor glasses case!

WS2812 bag progress: I added addressable LEDs behind three eyelets, and sewed an @adafruit APDS9960 color/gesture sensor breakout to the front so the LEDs will be able to pick up colors from nearby objects. Still working on the #circuitpython code, but the construction is finished.

Made my second sling bag in two days. This one is a "half-moon" bag I made following a YouTube video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mub9Kbs3LE) It was surprisingly straightforward to sew, and a good opportunity to use my recent impulse purchase of floral canvas fabric (it was on sale!) The only feature I don't love is that the lining is finished with binding on the inside, but no one else will see that part.

Last year I didn’t have any plans/was in a funk so ended up not wearing either of the costumes I worked on but what got done was pretty freaking cool.
The Donna Summer one was super fun to try and figure out how to contruct also my first time using a twin needle!
More talk about sewing!
So one of my favorite past times is drawing my halloween costumes then making them then refusing to take a proper picture of it once done.
Here are two older examples!
(The clown one won a costume contest at one of my previous jobs and was also featured on my dating profile at the time.)
@sewing the new hemline is finished

I finally finished my crochet collar! And I'm very pleased! Full vid at https://youtube.com/@HulloItsIcySews
New #SewingProject video! I took apart my newly made Victorian walking skirt and made it better, 'cause that's what #sewing is about! Find it at https://youtube.com/@HulloItsIcySews
