@ChrisMayLA6 Safestore type places are very expensive to use, we have multiple large storage buildings in #Stevenage all in prime industrial locations. Whatever it is bringing them, the outcome means that enormous buildings now occupying where people were supposed to be able to work. It breaks the new town planning codes and it would be good to know who audits whats is in them. As a casual observer also looks like an opportunity for more organised crime.
Not clear what this merger means for #UK #space industry- main players are all located close to #Stevenage so be interesting to see how this evolves both for the local region, for UK space-related companies, academic partnerships & collaboration with european partners -Spatial : #Airbus, #Thales et #Leonardo lancent un avant-projet de fusion

We have had something of a hiatus with our #RepairCafe events run by #PlasticFreeHitchin and hosted at the #Hackspace. This was because of insurance issues... All sorted now. As there was a bit of a repair backlog our first event was invite only and held last Saturday with no pre publicity.
We had 23 items come to our "mini" repair cafe and a success rate (items either repaired or advised on how to repair) of 80%.
Hopefully we will be arranging another event very soon.

Just seen the first butterfly this year was red with speckled brown - ran round the garden trying to catch it as it stopped briefly then managed to miss the shot!! -still was great to see it, got a squirrel tho -and the weather is fab this morning - first sound of lawnmowers starting up and cut grass #BringitOn #Stevenage

Shout out to the kids at #Barnwell school #Stevenage that helped my grown up son who fell off his bike on the way to work yesterday. All was ok in the end and the kids retrieved the mudguards that fell off. Good job!!

Just saw my first one parked across a pavement obstructing it and nowhere close to anywhere useful on the A602 Hitchin Road near J8 past Corey's Mill Sainsbury's. I wonder if it hit a geo-fence when someone tried to ride it out of Stevenage?
Stevenage is an ideal candidate with all the cycle paths. I just hope we don't get piles of inappropriately dumped Beryl bikes like other towns / cities have had with their e-bike/scooter schemes.
