Look at what mathematicians have been demanding your respect for all this time. These are REAL names for math concepts used by REAL mathematicians! Whitehead's Theorem: Which one? There are more than one mathematician named Whitehead and they each discovered more than one theorem. Pell's Equation: Not discovered by Pell. Cartan-Killing Form: Why are we killing Cartan? Nielsen-Thurston Classification: Are we classifying Thurstons? You can't just say "classification of elements of the mapping class group?" Also there are more than one mathematician named Thurston (including at least one father-son duo). "Hello, I study Lie Theory. It's named after Sophus Lie."
