I’m actually looking forward to #macOS #Tahoe putting apps in squircle jail, at least for the ones that notoriously ignore macOS design conventions. Just look at how Avid Media Composer sticks out with its oversized icon that eats into the reserved spacing.

And by the way, the product name is Avid Media Composer – why omit the spaces on the Dock icon?

I don’t know whether #apple listens to some key hashtags on Mastodon, but below is what #macOS #Tahoe beta 2 brought!
This is what I would expect for #ControlCenter with "Reduce transparency" enabled.
I would like so much more transparency to be removed with this accessibility setting turned on like the toolbar background to remain opaque (and not show the scrolled away content), #Safari to not change color with every website and have better contrast for the current tab.
Maybe we will get there…

@BasicAppleGuy A reminder of how fast and dramatic the speed of change was between the Developer Previews and Public Beta up to the GM. I believe that's the Dock that was originally created by James Thomson #Pcalc fame and that was rewritten. Even when 10.0 hit GM, it was a race to continually improve it, 10.0 had no DVD player or iTunes apps. In some ways, the complaints I read about in #Tahoe today are first world #macOS problems.

@marioguzman Its very much likely everything is feature frozen and its really optimization and bug fixes. But do you remember that ugly battery icon from the Big Sur beta that got a lot of backlash? I am hoping the same energy for #tahoe
