Is there any way to share an image to a shell script from within Android, or even just copy the full path of a file with an Android?

The thing is I'm using Image Toolbox to perform my #LossyPNG conversions on the go, but I find that #imagemagick convert actually does a far better job at choosing colors than Image Toolbox does.

There just isn't a convenient way (that I've found so far) to grab the full path and filename of an image from the gallery and then share that with a shell script running in #Termux.

Does anyone know of a #text #editor, which runs in a #Linux #terminal, and uses only the characters: lowercase a-z, 0-9, comma, and period, in commands?

I want such an editor to ease my life on #Termux in Android, because these characters are the only ones immediately accessible on a standard Samsung keyboard, without the use of symbol keys.

And no, #vim doesn't fit the bill, because it needs Esc, ":" and "$"; #emacs and #nano are out because of the Ctrl and Alt keys, conspicously absent from mobile keyboards.

Nope.... Still buggy outside of that initial launch on a fresh reboot,... Past that, it doesn't seem to want to reconnect, until ya reboot.... It being single use for emergency use isn't that bad I suppose. Flat least then I have an excuse to reboot my phone to keep it fresh? Until the next update that specifically mentions #terminal, getting back on #termux

I was trying to transfer an image (screenshot) from my computer to my phone (to text someone), but KDE Connect wasn't able to transfer it for some reason.

What did I do? Well, I didn't feel like cranking up #syncthing on my phone (it normally only runs on my phone while plugged in), so instead I pasted the image using xclip, uuencoded it, copied it back to the clipboard with xclip (all in one command). I then pasted the uuencoded text data onto a new note in #SimpleNote, then copied it on my phone and uudecoded it in #termux, then sent the photo via MMS.

Say it with me,

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERD!!!!!!

Besides I just use #termux and do local LLM on it when I'm outside. I have no socials on my phone but I have #fdroid! YAY!!!

I'm no developer, but I can program basic bash scripts to make my #linux life a bit easier. I haven't really found a compelling reason to seriously learn #programming. Programming's boring for me (for now). Yeah I can be taught pretty easily but I'd forget about it if I don't really find practical use for it.

Rummaging around (for an unrelated reason) I found my old Google Nexus 9 tablet (with keyboard). Coincidentally, it turns out that I could actually make good use of it in the very near future so I tried to get it going again. What else are weekends for? 😉

Well, after struggling with Google and its "play" store for several hours, I gave up fighting Google. Instead, I successfully restored the tablet by installing Lineage OS (version 16 aka Android v8). The Google apps did not install for some reason but who cares? I have F-droid, termux, muPDF, openssh, and Emacs! I'm all set.

In terms of hardware, it's actually quite a lovely system, with a nice screen and a very good bluetooth keyboard/case.
