Tip #732

Display the full date and time on the Status Bar.

The clock on Vivaldi’s Status Bar lets you take a quick glance at the time while you’re browsing as well as set alarms and timers for yourself. By default, only the hours and minutes are displayed, but you can add the current date and seconds to it as well.

To display the full date and time:

  1. Right-click on the clock.
  2. Select “Show date” and “Show Seconds” from the menu.

Good Morning ☀️

Does anyone have a favorite #time tracking app? Here's what I need it to do:

*Track time spent on multiple clients (I can easily assign these as "tasks" if needed)

*Ability to switch back and forth between clients/tasks without too much hassle

*End of day calculation of all hours spent on a given client/task

*Available on iOS

*Free (or a strong recommendation it's worth paying for)

Hope you're having a great Thursday, fedi friends :neofox_heart:

An attosecond is one-quintillionth of a second — and it's the time frame that some chemists and physicists are working in when they're looking at activity like electrons shifting state and molecules morphing from reactants into products. Here's @KnowableMag's story on science in the fastest lane. “This is how a lot of things start,” says research physicist John Gillaspy. “Breakthroughs can start with physicists and chemists just getting fascinated by some new thing, like attosecond phenomena, and then . . . you never know. You don’t even imagine what kind of capabilities are going to arise from that.”

It’s curious that while there are movements (effective altruism) premised on extreme discounting of present suffering to bring about perceived future goods, much contemporary politics is based on discounting of future harms/goods (climate change, immigration) to preserve perceived present advantages. Varying the degree to which one discounts the future yields a very different world view. #politics #morality #time
