I may have skipped #TwoDuckTuesday yesterday, but I do have a pair of #TuftedDucks for today’s #WednesdayWaterbirds

Two tufted ducks swimming alongside each other, the female slightly ahead but further from the camera. They look sleek and healthy. The male is ink black with a white side and an elegant swept back tuft, the female browner and more subtle.

It is #TwoDuckTuesday, so here is a pair of pochard, who “helpfully" took it in turns to dive so I couldn’t get them both in frame and in focus at the same time… feel free to pick either of them as your #DuckOfTheDay, and I hope the sight of them cheers you - especially if you’re in pain right now.
It is not the same duck twice, I promise!

A pochard swimming diagonnaly towards the phtogorapher’s left. It has a pale grey body, black chest, and chestnut head with flecks of white. It looks a little like you might imagine a science fiction version of a duck looking, though not quite as much so as an eider.

Another pochard, swimming to the right and slightly away from the photographer. It has a dark behind, pale grey sides and a slightly paler looking head, with a beady amber eye… it could be plotting something and trying to look innocent.

These #WednesdayWaterbirds are, like me, wet, tired, a little blurry, and confused about what day of the week it is. They think it might be #TwoDuckTuesday, but it isn’t.

Two mallards, a male and a female, lying a few feet apart with their heads under their wings, on the edge of a narrow SUDS pond in the pouring rain. The female is better camouflaged and a little hard to pick out.

My #FakeCommute was improved by encountering these two ducks - convenient as it is #TwoDuckTuesday and though the picture might not look like it #LovelyWeatherForDucks

It would still have been #NicerWithoutCars though.
