I’m a new fan of the @mass_driver type foundry. They are making some gorgeous typefaces with meticulous integrity.
And while I’m not a huge fan of serif fonts, I’m captivated by MD Lórien. It’s their fresh take on classic Dutch Baroque typefaces. It’s so well crafted.
Designers, do yourself a favor and check out the Mass-Driver library.

I have always assumed that an HTML button element should have the same hand cursor as a link. Turns out that's not the case.

Completely agree. Further evidence that Tesla-style bad #UI design “principles” are making their way into other software. (Imagine this kind of design on a screen in a moving vehicle. Good luck with the hand-eye coordination, requiring taking your eyes off the road — what could go wrong?)
Also, does the latest generation of UI designers have toothpicks for fingers?
I’m a little saddened by the gradual embiggening of font sizes on desktop computers over the past 25 years, mostly thanks to the web. Going from 11–13 pt as the standard systemwide font, to the 15–20 pt standard found on websites, is wasting so much real estate. Not only does this make system text look tiny next to web content, window chrome has gradually grown to balance out the appearance of web content as it takes over the desktop, with bigger and bigger swaths of empty margins to make the visuals work better.
Going back and forth between high-density system text and web content is jarring. I also miss my real estate. My 16 inch display feels just as cramped as my 14 inch display 20 years ago.

I need to show some more details for items in Explore view which is currently not available in the "trending" APIs of NeoDB, so I will have a hard time to initiate multiple requests to NeoDB instances. If I face rate limits I might be forced to show less items in the explore.

Are there any sites like that around anymore? I know Dribbble still exists.
Considering as a change (before the UI freeze for GNOME 49 in early August) toning down the colors of labels for cities and towns in Maps.

What do you think, is this an improvement? (I believe it would be more in line with how e.g. labels are presented in the default Adwaita GTK theme)

Then Tesla's UI/UX/IA turned to shit, peaking right about, well, now.
I fear that Apple has been hiring, or aspiring to hire, mostly Tesla UI/UX/IA people lately because this is the kind of "we don't care about the customer's successful accomplishment of a task" shit that Tesla pulls every day in a no-accountability company culture.

I finally came around to writing up the details behind the CSS-only code listings I use on my blog. These listings wrap on page resize with line continuation markers, show scrollbars past a configurable minimum width, support native text selection without the line numbers being copied, and number lines in plain CSS without any JS involved.
