Nesting Atlantic Puffin

This Is A Colour Wildlife Image In Landscape Format. The Photo Is Taken At Ground Level And Shows A Dry Surface Of Earth With A Few Small Stones. A Short Distance Back The Is A Small Burrow In An Earth Bank With Some Sparse Green Vegetation Surrounding The Entrance. Inside The Is An Adult Atlantic Puffin (Fratercula Arctica). The Bird Is Looking Out Of The Burrow As If Looking At The Camera, Which Is A Safe Distance Away. The Bird Has Its Head And Body Aligned With The Camera. The Puffin Has A Squat And But Relatively Thin Near Triangular Shaped Beak That Is Orange At The Front And Black At the Rear. The Bird Has A Large Almost Round Head With The Upper Part Being Black, The Sides White And The Black Eyes Surrounded By An Orange Triangular Margin With A Small Black Frame Surrounding The Triangle. The Birds Lower Surfaces Are White, The Upper Surfaces: Black. One Of The Two Large Orange Webbed Feet Is Visible On The Left Side. The Bird Its Crouched Or Perhaps Lying Down.
The Location Is Skokholm Island, To The West Of The Welsh Pembrokeshire Coast In The UK And Is A Designated Site Of Special Scientific Interest (2024).

Se ve un grupo de aves posadas en una isleta de piedras. En primer plano el agua donde se reflejan las siluetas de las que están más cercanas a la orilla. En total son seis, a la derecha una aletea, al fondo otra se arregla las plumas de las alas. Son de color gris, el cuello blanco y la cabeza con una especie de gorro negro. One of the absolute hilights of the year! I was away for a few days but managed to fit in a couple of hours forest walk by a little river. There I got a tip from a nice lady that she had seen a kingfisher and I managed to find a good spot to watch it for a while (possibly they were two). Very happy day as they are quite rare in Sweden, I had never seen one before :)
