A ce stade, je n'ai pas d'abonnement.
- Si j'achète un livre, puis-je télécharger les fichiers (comme sur #Bookdoreille) ou dois-je passe par Audible ?
- Si je m'abonne, n'ai-je droit qu'à un livre par mois (même si je n'y accroche pas ?)
Sinon, d'autres plateformes à conseiller ? (les bibliothèques et les amis n'ont pas toujours ce que je voudrais lire)

Hvor køber I lydbøger henne?
Gerne med en app der samler ens bibliotek.
Jeg lytter mest på engelsk.
Jeg bruger naturligvis også både e-reolen og den engelske Libby. Dertil har jeg Storytel/Mofibo, men der er næsten kun danske oversættelser af de bøger jeg gerne vil høre.

Well, that's... a thing. Just got an email from Amazon saying I've been selected for the beta audio book program.
Using virtual voices.
That can then be sold specifically on Amazon, Audible and Alexa.
Hm. Very hmmmm.
I'm not exactly inclined to go that route but, well, I'm hard of hearing so I'm not the audience.
Any thoughts?

"While books that come on audio CDs don't have DRM embedded in them, files downloaded from Audible or other for-pay sources often do. Audiobookshelf won't play books with DRM, which means you need a method of stripping that DRM out.
Unfortunately, here's where we run into a problem: removing DRM from your audiobooks is not universally legal. "In the US, the law against 'circumventing' effective DRM has no personal-use exemption. In Europe, it varies by country," explained the Electronic Frontier Foundation's Competition and IP Litigation Director Mitch Stoltz when Ars reached out for advice. "That's as silly as it sounds—stripping DRM from one’s own copy of an audiobook in order to listen to it privately through different software doesn’t threaten the author or publisher, except that it makes it harder for them to charge you twice for the same audiobook. And that means you're kind of on your own for this step. Should you live in a jurisdiction where DRM removal from audiobooks for personal use is legal—which includes some but not all European countries—then sites like this one can assist in the process; for the rest of us, the only advice I can give is to simply proceed in a legal manner and use DRM-free audiobooks to start with."

Weirdly, when I logged into my #Audible account this morning to start the move to #LibroFM there was a new book in my library. One I hadn’t purchased or added.
It was “Reading the Bible again for the first time”
I had the option to remove it, which I did. But why the fuck was it even in there? I’m not even Christian!

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they repeat the ebook shit show with audiobooks. And now I get to support local book stores as well. Wish I knew about them sooner.

Machine:
A relaxing Sci-Fi thriler.
Filled with my favorite tropes: lots of aliens, ancient artifacts, mystery and intrigue.
Yet my blood didn't rise until the end game.
An interesting factor is that the main character has a disability, however this is not her only or even main trait.
