I complained about my weird ankle issue and the universe decided to teach me a lesson by giving me something much, much worse to deal with.My daughter passed blood and a clot in a bowel movement. No pain, so probably not hemorrhoids. Horribly similar to what happened to the young woman in this documentary from Australia - <a href="https://youtu.be/jW8o8RhoKU0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/jW8o8RhoKU0</a>We applied for MSP on June 28 (needed to get an address before applying); we arrived in BC on April 17. We've not received our enrolment letter yet.You can no longer get a colonoscopy from a private clinic in BC; the clinic that used to offer them said to go 'south of the border'. Montreal has private colonoscopy clinics. They charge ~$1,700. Seems cheap to me. I once had a cystoscopy in North Carolina that cost $13k. Luckily we had reached our deductible that year, so we only paid $1,300 USD.We could go to Nashville, where I have in-laws. I looked up Vanderbilt's colonoscopy clinic and was appalled by a news story from last year about them not adequately sterilizing equipment.So I am fearful of poor quality services and possible complications. If a complication were to occur then it would be better to be in BC and on MSP. But I also fear long wait times, especially for a young person, who might be de-prioritized due to perceived lower risk. She does have risk factors - previous PFAS exposure through our municipal water back in NC, lots of abdominal X-rays from NG tube placement during her hospitalization, and Celiac.What should we do?Should we go to Urgent Care before we get the MSP enrolment letter in case they might be able to provide a referral and get her on a wait list ahead of getting the letter? Or is that not doable? Possibly because it's the first food I've had in 36 hours! 😂 I habitually opened the fridge so many times yesterday - only to disappointedly shut it again...
