#Threats against #judges & their #families “are ultimately threats to constitutional government. It’s as simple as that,”US Circuit Judge Richard Sullivan, chair of a #security cmte for the federal #judiciary’s policy arm, said.
The judiciary has emerged as a powerful constraint on a range of #Trump’s initiatives, from dismantling #FederalAgencies to #deporting migrants & targeting #LawFirms. As Trump defies court orders, #legal scholars warn the country may already be in a #ConstitutionalCrisis

When US District #Judge James #Boasberg ruled in April that #Trump admin officials could face #criminal #contempt charges for #deporting migrants in defiance of a #CourtOrder, the blowback was immediate.

Trump’s supporters unleashed a wave of #threats & menacing posts. And they didn’t just target the judge. Some attacked Boasberg’s brother. Others blasted his daughter. Some demanded the #family’s arrest – or #execution.

I've been watching the legal "stuff" around #deporting and #kidnapping in the US.

I'm confused;

Isn't there a simple law that says "a #citizen of the #USA may not be forced to leave the country by anyone for any reason at any time."
If this is an important law and elected leader acts above the law then #impeach leader immediately on the first attempt to violate the #law.

show some respect for rule of law.

If there isnt one, why isnt there one being written right now.

THINK ABOUT THIS:

*Even if* you agree with #TheOrangeMenace about #deporting "criminals" ("drug dealers, murderers, rapists") who are in the country illegally...

WHY would you focus on people WHO ARE TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING BY PAYING THEIR TAXES (despite knowing they won't receive a dime in benefits) simply b/c they believe "It's the right thing to do"?

Of all the low-hanging-fruit of people to target, this would indeed be the lowest of the low. 🤬 msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/watch/

Asking Palestine to disarm long term when Israel won't even give up their #WMDs is not a reasonable request.

Whose job will it be to defend Palestinians against Israel? Hamas' #alQassam are arguably counterproductive, but Palestinians need someone competent, not nothing. You can't leave 6 million civilians (12 million if you include refugees in neighboring countries) undefended against one of the world's largest militaries who are supported by the world's only supper power.

There needs to be someone with the authority to shoot back as the Israeli military if they try to attack Palestinians. Someone really needed to be able to snipe back at the Golani Brigade

And what do they even mean by "surrender"? surrender to what?

If Israel export their terror problem by #deporting the #militants and leadership like they did in the 1960s and 1970s then Israel should be held responsible when we see a 21st century resurrection of Black September and the PFLP-EO (at best) if they completely dismantle the current resistance there's a risk it will be hijacked by lunatics like ISIS

Or do they just want "Hamas" to line up against a wall and let Israel do what the IDF did to Egyptians repeatedly? and they define "Hamas" so broadly that, as far as, i can tell #Hamas is just the Israeli word for "Palestinian", which they refuse to say in English newarab.com/opinion/who-was-re (the uncensored version might have been in Haaretz Hebrew later if I am remembering right, but that's paywalled anyway)

With the incoming #Trump administration looking to prioritize #deporting Chinese nationals, citing security concerns, many undocumented #Chinese men say they couldn’t feel further afield from the reasoning behind the potential policy — that Trump thinks they’re assembling an army. But, having fled their homeland because of political persecution, or uprooted their lives for better economic opportunities, many undocumented Chinese men reject the idea.

Unfreakinbelievable. #ThePurge
