AnnaI have created a static web gallery generator. <a href="https://github.com/blitzgneisserin/staticwebgallery" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://github.com/blitzgneisserin/staticwebgallery</a> The “sophistication” about it right now: the Python script extracts with the help of exiftool metadata from the photos and displays the info automatically on the web site. So far, it extracts the keywords from the photos and creates a tag cloud of them, which you can see on the landing page. If you click on a tag, you see the thumbnails of the photos that contain that keyword/tag as metadata. Click on a thumbnail to see the big photo, under the photo you can see a caption which is also automatically created from the extracted metadata, it’s composed of the name of the city, the name of the state and the capture date (datetimeoriginal). Of course, my plans are much much bigger: the whole project was inspired by the Wordpress plugin Media Library Assistant and it’s metadata mapping capabilities - but I wanted this as a static web site. Here is an example of a gallery web site that uses Worpress/Media Library Assistant. PicturavisCelebrity This blue-lored antbird is called Julia and is likely the most photographed female of the species. She and her mate, Julio, are fed by the team at the Tinamu Birding Nature Reserve in Colombia. This species is shy and lives in the undergrowth, which normally makes it difficult to photograph them. They also only inhabit a few isolated areas in Colombia and Venezuela. There are few sightings of them on eBird and iNaturalist, but many of those are from Tinamu Birding Nature Reserve, meaning Julia and Julio are the celebrities of this species. PicturavisFoggy Palms This scene presented itself, when I was photographing hummingbirds on the mountain near the El Dorado Nature Reserve in Colombia. I decided to (maybe) miss a picture of a bird and burn this scene into bits instead. Deciding what to get a picture of was actually an issue, as so many unfamiliar birds and other animals were flying, walking and sitting around. This, along with great landscapes, made for some tough split-second decisions. Although the image looks black and white, it was taken in color. Desolation ParkI'm trying out <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/Darktable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Darktable</a> as a <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#photography</a> editing and organization application. Currently using <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/digikam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#digikam</a>, but its editing functionality felt a bit clunky, I like its organization functionality though.Darktable is pretty advanced; it was hard to get started having just used regular image manipulation programs, but after watching some instruction videos, it clicked.Bruce Williams channel has LOTS of videos, organized in playlists, like this for beginners: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06V0XwmM0l4&list=PLlYWvzmJQTrQV8CjwNJgcig7RpspxlhK6" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06V0XwmM0l4&list=PLlYWvzmJQTrQV8CjwNJgcig7RpspxlhK6</a>

PicturavisFork-tailed flycatcher During our time in Colombia, we visited the El Encanto Del Guanapalo, a large savanna nature reserve. When we drove in, these stunning flycatchers greeted us. They are named after their long tail feathers that look like a two-pronged fork in flight.
