He was the fourth headliner on the Winter Dance Party tour in 1959 when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson (the “Big Bopper”) were killed in a plane crash. Dion had an amazing 39 songs on the Top 40 charts in the 1950s and 1960s. Most notably, his biggest hits were "Runaround Sue," "The Wanderer," and "Ruby Baby." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and he won a Grammy Hall of Fame Award for "Runaround Sue." In this song Dion is warning Flo, Jane and Mary to stay clear of The Wanderer. Dion told Rolling Stone magazine in 1976: "You say to a chick, 'Stay away from that guy. And she would say, 'What guy?' Chicks loved a rebel.".. In July 2017, Dion DiMucci filed a lawsuit against Zenimax Media, Inc. over their use of his song in the 2015 "The Wanderer" trailer for Fallout 4. Dion claimed the trailer neglected his terms for using the song in marketing, because the trailer "featured repeated homicides in a dark, dystopian landscape, where violence is glorified as sport," thus making it apparently objectionable under his marketing terms..
