Eclipse Foundation<p>That’s a wrap on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JavaLand" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JavaLand</span></a> 2025! 🎉</p><p>We shared the latest from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JakartaEE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JakartaEE</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Adoptium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Adoptium</span></a> &amp; <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EclipseIDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EclipseIDE</span></a>, prepped visitors for summer with our branded fitness towels, and had great conversations about the future of Java. </p><p>Thanks for an inspiring event! 👏<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EclipseFdn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EclipseFdn</span></a></p>
Eclipse Foundation<p>Did you know? The <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EclipseIDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EclipseIDE</span></a> Working Group is formed to ensure the continued sustainability, integrity, evolution and adoption of the Eclipse IDE. hamblingreen<p>been using my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/pinephonepro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pinephonepro</span></a> with the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/nexdock" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nexdock</span></a> daily for all my engineering classes for about a month now, and loving it so far! some programs i was pleasantly surprised by include <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/logisim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>logisim</span></a>, <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/rnote" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rnote</span></a>, and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/eclipseide" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>eclipseide</span></a>. i didn't expect these programs to work well but they are actually so useful and work just as well, if not a bit slower, than on my thinkpad. up next i'll need to install <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/wine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wine</span></a> and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ltspice" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ltspice</span></a> for more circuit design :)</p>
array :java: :void: :php:<p>I'm slowly progressing with my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Java" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Java</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/SpringBoot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SpringBoot</span></a> project, which I started to learn how to use the framework. But I'm a bit worried about <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/EclipseIDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EclipseIDE</span></a> eating most of my 8 GBs of RAM each time I run the project. It's a very simple one so far... Does a Spring project really need to use so much resources (this never happened, not even close, with "vanilla" Java), or is Eclipse having a memory leak?</p>
Ænðr E. Feldstraw<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EclipseIDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EclipseIDE</span></a> was having a major problem with its auto-complete suggestions for a brand-new, almost empty <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/java" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>java</span></a> project I just added the day before. It would start churning at me pressing a dot, raise CPU usage to 100%, and never recover. </p><p>I tried resetting the auto-complete settings. Tried turning off things I never use. Even raised the amount of memory it could use to 8GB.</p><p>Nothing worked.</p><p>Thanks, Eclipse.</p>
Ænðr E. Feldstraw<p>Yesterday I spent 2 hours just waiting for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EclipseIDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EclipseIDE</span></a> to get its head out of its ass and let me type. Type anything at all. 2 hours of productivity lost. Yay. And thanks, Eclipse!</p>
