I came across this at a local Muscat supermarket for about Euro 2.

A simple motor kit with switch and light. All the components are the same as when I started playing with electronics as a child back in the 1960s.

Brings back memories I'd long forgotten about. Might remind a few others too.

Will I use the kit? No, I'll repack it and keep it safe. The memories are worth far more than the 900bz it cost me.

I've been told it's good practice to "sprinkle decoupling capacitors" around my circuit board. Is there any good source for bits of embedded wisdom like this? I have a lot of catching up to do, and it's hard enough to learn all the essentials nevermind the little things that people pick up as they go.

Does anyone have any tips for non-destructively dismantling old incandescent lamps (E27 base) with the intent to modify/reassemble them?

The process is presumably "desolder the pip on the base, then loosen the cement/epoxy/whatever that attaches the base to the glass envelope and separate"

But does anyone have any details of how to do that last bit?

I'll tag some communities that might know, feel free to add more?

Imagine controlling machines with only your thoughts! Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) are turning stuff of sci-fi into reality, and Mouser Electronics is leading the way.

Mouser has great content about this tech on their Empowering Innovation Together platform.

Chris( @stoneymonster ) and Elecia( @logicalelegance ) had an insightful chat with Komathi Sundaram about her passion for testing and automation!
They talked about the magic of setting up CI servers, and all kinds of tests -- from unit to hardware-in-the-loop.

Did ‘induced atmospheric vibration’ cause blackouts in #Europe? An #electrical engineer explains the phenomenon

#Portugal’s grid operator #REN was quoted as blaming the event on a rare phenomenon known as “induced #atmospheric #vibration”. REN has since reportedly refuted this.

But what is this vibration? And how can #energy systems be improved to mitigate the risk of widespread blackouts?
