This pair of jays had chosen an interesting nesting spot: a broken streetlight.

They were therefore used to people passing by and were not bothered by me. You can see them in the first photo trying to get their parents attention. A very nice experience with these beautiful birds!

A pair of jays nesting in a broken streetlight. The streetlight is an older one, with large round glasses inside of a metal frame. One glass is broken and is now the entrance to the birds nest. Two chicks are raising their heads from the bottom of the nest trying to get food from the parent birds.

I was so incredibly lucky today, I know that this little owl lives in the area and saw it a few times already, but it always flew away long before I was able to get a good photo.
But today it wasn't phased by my presence at all and allowed me to get this photo. That was such an awesome experience!

A young Blushing Amanita growing through the leaves. The tiny spider waiting under its cap was so small that I only saw it during post processing.
Next year I'll finally start collecting these mushrooms, but I want to be absolutely sure that I'm able to identify them correctly.

I promise there will be fewer mushrooms again soon - but for now I'm completely caught up in finding and if possible identifying them.
This one should be Mycetinis alliaceus or the garlic parachute. Sadly I searched it's name after I went home again and thus can't smell it to see if I'm right. 😄

Something different this time. Like many other people I tried to capture comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS). It wasn't a challenge to spot it on the night sky, but it was hard to capture the impressive view on camera. So happy with the results! First one is with 70 mm, the second photo was taken with my 400 mm.

Breaking through the moss was this very young mushroom. I think it is a grey spotted Amanita, because of the vertical lines on the ring. There were other, older mushrooms around it and none had red coloring at damaged spots, so I don't think it's a blushing Amanita.
