@CazimodoCreative I am thrilled to win a likeness of my pug!! I dreamed last night that I won $10,000 in a game and then woke to the message! I feel like I have won the lottery!! I’m so excited! #fiberarts #crochet
I've my mind blown - using an I-cord maker (thanks @bubblewrap ) to "ply" yarn.
Things, only Evie comes up with.

I Tried Spinning Chainette Yarn and This is What Happened!

Choosing a knitting pattern is such an frustrating process for some reason. I scroll through hundreds, pay for 5 and end up knitting a free one I have in a book or found when I first looked #knitting #fiberarts
New #weaving project - Weft Float Lace
This is a bunch of (I think) 100% wool in fingering weight. A colleague's MIL died 2 years ago and she let me pick through her stash. There were no labels but from touch I'm pretty sure it's wool.
I'd set it aside for a weaving project and now I'm getting to it.
Step one - winding everything into center pull balls and check for damage (I know there is some).
Friend of a friend reports that another friend got a job in tech straight out of university, zero experience, because they had learned three medieval languages for their degree, and could read a #knitting pattern.
The interviewer allegedly said:
"Well, you won't have any problems learning to code, will you !!"
I am scheming some dye schemes over here.
I've had this thrifted cotton homespun for a couple years, and I keep not making a shirt out of it because I already have some shirts with similar stripes.
There are over 3 meters of it so I would like to make something bigger, but I know my life and if I'm going to sit on a garment it needs to be a dark colour. I was an inveterate sitter-on-the-ground even before I had a kid and also developed an energy impairment.
Finished something a few weeks ago. And as always: no good pictures of me wearing the thing exist.
It's a knit shirt, based on the pattern "Green Machine" from an older #knitty issue. The yarn is Coast from Holst Yarn. I've made it a bit longer with mostly a longer lace portion to wear it as a normal shirt, not an additional layer.
At a gauge of 26 sts/10 cm it really is #slowfashion
Dear Person Who Was Talking About Honeycomb Darning Last Week,
I wish I could remember who you were so I could say 'thank you'. Thank you!
Sincerely,

#The100DayProject2025 All that I’m missing is the border. That will take an extra day or two but the main body is done! #crochet #fiberarts #crafts
Spinning some unknown fiber
I got this ball of #spinning fiber from a friend, who doesn't spin but couldn't resist the fiber when she visited the store / mill of John Arbon during a vacation.
I'm spinning it up and then we will decide what to do with the resulting yarn.
I've no idea what breed it is.

K is for… #Kantha Coaster
Is it just me or does “Kantha Coaster” sound like Star Wars slang for a smuggler?
Here & now, it’s a great way to use up scraps

Finished tatting the lace letters that spell out “Tax the rich” and glued them onto my bag. Tatted alphabet pattern is from the Etsy shop “FairyLaceAndMore”. #craftivism #GentleProtest #tatting #tattinglace #fiberarts #lacemaking #taxtherich
Anyway if you want to learn tatting this is a live class, reoccurring.
Art is not always a grand plan. This piece was created purely as a test: I wanted to see what was possible with hand-made silk paper. And when I didn't feel like planning a new project for the animation at the cultural heritage centre, I simply embroidered moss onto it. People were crazy about the moss!
You don't have to be perfect, just start to experiment and play!

Found this book today in a book shop.
I didn't get it, because I haven't done cross stitch in over 20 years and don't see myself taking up the craft any time soon - but there are probably some people in my followers who might enjoy it.

After MUCH indecision this is the pattern I settled on to knit up, it's by one of my favourite Canadian designers.
I'm knitting it in an alpaca blend (called Lilac), so there's a bit of a halo, and it's *really* soft (blend to help account for some of the growth of alpaca).
Excited to gift this to a friend who can make me laugh until I’m breathless and crying. Highly recommend finding this kind of friend. #quilting #quilts #quilters #fiberarts
New project - #knitting
I've this yarn (2 balls) sitting around for quite a while. It's 100% cotton, fingering weight and about 1.000 m each.
The plan was to turn it into a cardigan and I've been searching for a pattern or idea where I could use all of the yarn but have no "breaks" in the color sequence. So basically something that really is worked in one piece. Or two pieces. From the arms to the center or vice versa.
I've found it - more info later.
