I liked 'The Interstellar Song Contest', the episode took a turn that I really didn't expect it to, in a good way. There is an interesting pattern forming in the themes Doctor Who is exploring during Ncuti Gatwa's run. Not that tackling with certain topics is anything new for the show, but it's done from a new, and more current angle, and I'm here for it. Also they weren't kidding about avoiding spoilers about that thing™ that happens, along with the other thing™ that happens too.

One of my favourite personal connections with 'Mad Max: Fury Road' is that I have now come to forever associate it with my Tiffie, because it is after all her favourite film of all time. Is there a hint of logic in making this claim? Nope, but it's by far the one explosion-heavy movie that has worked the best in distracting her and noticeably helping with her extreme fear of fireworks, so there's that.

Extremely late to the party this time around, but finally sat down and watched 'The Story & the Engine' and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really interesting episode, the story had depth, and it cleverly connected to the Doctor's current incarnation as a Black man. It was also good seeing that it was both written by a Black man and directed by a Black woman. Hoping to see more of Inua Ellams and Makalla McPherson in the future.

Also loved the way the line "Hurt people, hurt people. The difference between good and evil is what we do with that pain" was used. The second part is what makes the difference. People usually use just the first bit, often as if it's set in stone, but in the end of the day we are all responsible for what we choose to do, and cruelty is always a coconscious choice, not an inevitability.

And it's important to remember that there's always a choice, because this also means that negative feelings and bad experiences don't get to define you, and whatever heaviness you carry within you cannot limit your goodness.
