"I took much pains in sorting and folding of papers."

I agree so very very much, Sam. The folding part is often overlooked. A paper that is being put to use must be folded. It's a mark of recognition and appropriation. The unfolded paper is alien, the folded paper is trusted.

[The truth, I'm not sarky.]

Psyched to shoot my first roll of large format film on my “new” camera from 1917-ish: a Kodak “No. 2 Folding Autographic Brownie” (sez so, right on the handle). Only 8 pics/ roll, cuz they’re like 4 inches! Shooting Ilford 400 speed B&W. Will find a way to use the timed shutter: release once to open, release again to close.

The first example of cellular #origami

L. olor is featured in Science because Prakash and Flaum have discovered in this behavior a new geometric mechanism previously unknown in biology. And they are the first to explain how such a simple cell can produce such incredible #morphodynamics, beautiful #folding and unfolding – aka origami – at the scale of a single cell, time and again without fail.

EurekAlert! The first example of cellular origamiCombining a deep curiosity and “recreational biology,” Stanford researchers have discovered how a simple cell produces remarkably complex behavior, all without a nervous system. It’s origami, they say.

Very cool chevron fold in a gray shale cliff at Hartland Quay, Devon, UK. The rock is about 320 million years old.

I couldn't tell the scale from this pic, but I was able to find another photo that had a human in it. That cave opening looks to be around 10 ft/3 m high.

“Hike up scenic Carbon Canyon in the Grand Canyon with geology professor Shawn Willsey to investigate the sexy and magnificent rocks exposed along the Butte Fault. Learn how this fault formed, reversed its direction of movement, and made the East Kaibab Monocline…”
