Moxxi the corgi is lifting her head from the tiled floor with a panicked look. Her lips are half stuck on her teeth. Also, peep that dry nose. Do I hear DEHYDRATED?

The clouds just now be like sunrise on Venus.

A tall image you may need to click to see the full effect, this is a hummingbird sitting on a feeder with its bill lifted high in a swordlike stance and its brilliant fuchia-colored flowerlike throat feathers puffed out and glittering with iridescence. This is the Long-billed Starthroat, seen in some of my other photos defending this feeder station from a large hummingbird called White-Vented Plumeleteer, which is temporarily out of range in this photo. Dear Friends,
#Insects are going extinct. I live in the #suburbs. I leave portions of the yard to their own devices, removing invasives as I find them to help. This stump hosted a termite swarm just before they flew off. Birds gulped them out of the air. It was fun to watch, but couldn't get a good shot! Sorry!

Hundreds, maybe thousands of winged termites swarm a stump in the mid-day sun. Only insects are visible covering the entirety of the tree stump. They lingered there for only a few minutes Then they flew off.

For #MountainMonday I have another aurora photo from May 11 of last year. The "Auroraversary" as some called it. This is some green and purple aurora borealis rays over the Golden Ears (Mount Blanshard) from Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada.
