Eric 🇨🇦<p>Built-in obsolescence. Humph. My mic stand boom has a hardened steel adjuster bolt going into a cheap pot metal housing to grip the mic stand boom. Of course it’s not going to last. The threads on the cheap pot metal housing became stripped from years of adjusting. I used teflon tape on the bolt threads several times, which worked for a while. Finally it just didn’t work any longer. There’s no way I’m going to go purchase another mic stand for this. And not resorting to duct tape either. So out to the barn I go, where I keep a plethora of widgets. Found a very slightly larger diameter bolt, which used to be a weed whacker shaft adjuster bolt. It also has the exact same thread pattern as the mic stand, which was very cool. So problem solved for now. It works great. It seems there’s so many items produced with planned obsolescence and cheap materials. Did similar fixes to our toaster, kettle, gps, my transistor radio and on and on. There’s my rant for the day. <a href="https://c.im/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/recording" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>recording</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/gearsquad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gearsquad</span></a></p>

Eric 🇨🇦<p>Had to remix and re-upload the new song. Had a challenging time with the vocal volume levels before the song tempo change. They were way too high. So went in and manually adjusted the individual track volume automation levels. Quite tedious, as it had lots of peaks and valleys. Raised the keys volume too. Also added a second bass line run-down just before ending verse. And changed the artwork. Pretty satisfied with the results now. Lots of learning. My brain hurts. <a href="https://c.im/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/bass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bass</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/guitar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>guitar</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/politics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>politics</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/gearsquad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gearsquad</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/recording" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>recording</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/songwriting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>songwriting</span></a> <a href="https://youtu.be/V_0-w2imhjU" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/V_0-w2imhjU</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
