I love this 1905 tenement building at Parlhead Cross in Glasgow. Designed Crawford and Veitch, its distinctive corner tower was based on one on the Canal Boatmen's Institute at Port Dundas, which, in turn, was in based on a tower from Glasgow University's Old College campus on High Street. Neither of these still exist.
I love these roundels, representing key elements of the drivers of the city's wealth, on the Glasgow Stock Exchange building on Buchanan Street. Dating from the 1870s, I've always found it interesting that Arts, Science and possibly Engineering are all depicted as female figures, while only building and mining are represented by male ones.
