By the way, this is the same strategy UAE is using to protect their investment in #OpenAI: they are forcefully integrating #ChatGPT into their government workflows, essentially telling their treasury to flow money into OpenAI.

In return, OpenAI promises to build a compute center in Abu Dhabi. This enterprise is partially funded by #Microsoft, which is a major investor in OpenAI. It’s a rolling katamari of self-dealing, and (of course) Trump is involved.

It’s all a grift, and taxpayers are the target.

#AI is increasingly being used to launder responsibility for life-altering actions. From Elon/DOGE using AI to decide whom to fire, to Palantir hawking AI for defense analysis, responsibilities that were previously the onus of professionals and bureaucrats can now be outsourced to mindless machines, and lazy political agents can pick the outcomes the want, and wash their hands of accountability—it wasn’t me; the machine said so!

Mind you, this has been going on long before AI. People have been hawking “crime prediction” and “creditworthiness check” models in the past that are basically tools for laundering racism. AI accelerates this trend, and turns biased and flawed pattern-matching into authoritative-sounding statements.

This sounds like its the typical conservative project. They say the right thing but always do the opposite.

The words are there to mislead and to provide cover. They take up the news cycle so that the real actions get no coverage.

Words have no meaning to those folks. it just a tool of the #grift

#democracy is more than voting.

You’ve been warned: The New Dark Age

“The warlords who sacked Rome did not intend to doom Western #Europe to centuries of ignorance. It was not a foreseeable consequence of their actions.”

“The same cannot be said of the sweeping attack on human knowledge and progress that the Trump administration is now undertaking—a deliberate destruction of education, science, and history, conducted with a fanaticism that recalls the #DarkAges that followed #Rome’s fall”

Trump has transformed DC since his return to power is the normalization of💰making schemes that once would've generated endless pol blowback, televised hearings, official investigations & damage control. The death of outrage in the Trump era exemplifies how far he's moved the lines of accepted behavior in DC.

The NYT finally holds Trump's feet to the fire, but doesn't mention his co-conspirators: R MOC. We must amplify his #grift & waste, #austerity for Americans.

@gwynnion

He has no intention in building a missile defence system, just like he has no intention on building a wall or moving factories back to US.

It's a grift.

It's all so he can give trucks full of cash to a bunch of cronies who will then give him a cut by paying for million dollar dinners at Mar-a-Lago.

With Drumpf, It's grifts all the way down
