Carding fiber on a drum carder and then using a dizz to turn it into roving is something I've seen (and done).
The technique was done by slowly "winding" off the roving strip by strip.
This video shows a different technique at ca 9 minutes. Anyone done that?

I have only just realized that most yarn swifts are marketed to knitters and not to spinners, and this difference is important. Yarn is often sold in hanks, which need to be wound into cakes or balls before knitting or crocheting. This is easier than winding it into the hank to begin with, which is what a spinner does. If you're a #disabled spinner, you can get really picky about your tools! #knitting #spinning #handspinning #handmade #handcraft #bitchingandwhining
Three months ago I started this spinning project with four colourways of fibre, and now I have twelve skeins of three-ply yarn in a smooth gradient.
Hubby and I figured how to load the warp on this little tabletop loom that he 3D printed. Then I gave him some of my hand spun art #yarn and he sat here #weaving while I spun some single-ply. #HandSpinning
So cool! I think we have enough yarn, he could make two, and then I could sew it into a little bag? Dunno... maybe they will just be pot holders!
