#LostBones #FossilFriday The hunt for Pleistocene horses in continues. A recent visit to the Jackson County Historical Society revealed a horse mandible, teeth, and femur, but they have been radiocarbon dated to less than ~200 BP. The specimens were part of a 2015 study by Gustavus Adolphus College and Bates College. Over 800 bones, primarily bison, from 200 to 1000 years BP were catalogued.

Dans le cas présent, il s'agit d'un attelage « solo », un seul cheval est attelé à une voiture avec une meneuse et une équipière / groom qui encouragent de la voix le cheval. La meneuse regarde déjà sur la droite alors que l'équipière se penche en dehors de la voiture pour faciliter le virage pour suivre le tracé du parcours. L'arrière-plan est constitué des arbres d'une forêt.

Ça y est, j'ai mis en ligne une trentaine de photos de l'épreuve de marathon du concours d'attelage de Gourin du 20 avril à https://bretagne.en-photo.fr/2025/avril/#125 et suivantes

Photo de format carré en couleur présentant un attelage "solo" franchissant un gué. La meneuse semble hésiter et regarde sa droite, comme le cheval, alors que l'équipier, groom, semble hurler (en fait, il disait « non, tout droit ! »). L'équipage vient de rentrer dans le gué dans les éclaboussures, mais une partie de la surface encore lisse, reflète l'attelage.

We've previously spoken about the longest arched walkway being in Bologna. This is one of the arches on that stretch and if you see those trees lining the street, (Via Guidotti), they are the Horse Chestnuts from the other day too! You can go through it, so, I count it as a kind of #doorsday ?
