Zanidd<p>12: The abstraction of doing into labour is the weaving of capitalism</p><p>In this chapter Holloway turns to Marx. <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/uniteTheLeft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>uniteTheLeft</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/leftunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>leftunity</span></a> </p><p>Jokes aside, while in the previous chapter he is insistent on the way from the particular instead of attacking the whole, in this chapter we take a look from a marxist perspective.</p><p>I think most anarchists don't necessarly REJECT Marxism per se, but see it as "an acid which dissolves the social synthesis of capitalism".</p><p>We are especially focusing on the dual nature of doing (and labour). And how it relates to (I think) alienation theory.</p><p>We alienate ourselves from the "products" we produce and the labour or producing activity itself.</p><p>This alienated labour is how we ourselves produce our masters. (Quote from Marx)</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/anarchism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>anarchism</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/anarchy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>anarchy</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/crackcapitalism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>crackcapitalism</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/capitalism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>capitalism</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a></p>
a hopeful socialist<p>I don't use the term <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/leftunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>leftunity</span></a> because there's a lot of discourse around it, but I do believe that on the ground, in the streets, and on many particular issues, <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/communist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>communist</span></a> and <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/anarchist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>anarchist</span></a> people can work together (and must). I think that better terms might be <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/unitedfront" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>unitedfront</span></a> or <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/leftalliance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>leftalliance</span></a>, as unity as a term papers over meaningful differences in the two political ideologies.</p><p>I think that <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/anarchists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>anarchists</span></a> as a whole, could stand to be more critically supportive of past and current socialist experiments around the world, while <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/communists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>communists</span></a> (<a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/marxistleninists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>marxistleninists</span></a> and <a href="https://toots.matapacos.dog/tags/maoists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>maoists</span></a>) should accept that there is sound anarchist theory that might not be reflected in many self-identified anarchists. After all, how many Leninists can honestly claim to have done their own reading?</p>
Sally Strange<p>"If raw economies of scale are the deciding factor in struggle, then meaningful social change can only come through proletarian uprisings or movements of sufficient size. Hence anything that isn't building up working-class institutions and/or The Party is a waste of time.</p><p>But if capitalism is riddled with inefficiencies and potential exploits, then actively being able to search through them to find critical points of leverage is far more effective because it enables force multipliers and attack vectors which can give you capacity on par if not exceeding mass movements."</p><p>Cheers to whoever posted this. It's an excellent essay. Yes it's long but it needs that. </p><p><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Capitalism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Capitalism</span></a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Anarchy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Anarchy</span></a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Marxism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Marxism</span></a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/LeftUnity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LeftUnity</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://wedontagree.net/we-dont-agree-on-capitalism-(essay)" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">wedontagree.net/we-dont-agree-</span><span class="invisible">on-capitalism-(essay)</span></a></p>
