As reported by Pearce, Armin Pecsi is not expected to train with the U21s at this time, but together with our new signing Freddie Woodman. It's not very clear to me that Pearce wrote this stating it with precision, or he's only saying it in a generic way in passing.

Regardless, that makes Pecsi a lot more than a youth promise, and Woodman not quite an afterthought to be benching for Alisson and Mamardashvili.

The Premier League champions moved to further strengthen their goalkeeping department after recently sanctioning season-long loan moves for Vitezslav Jaros, who went to Ajax, and Harvey Davies, who linked up with League Two side Crawley Town. They also sold Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford for a fee rising to £18m. As well as Alisson and Mamardashvili, London-born Woodman will train alongside youngster Armin Pecsi, who Liverpool signed from Hungarian club Puskas Akademia for £1.5m earlier this month.

2. Giorgi Mamardashvili <- Successor?
3. Freddie Woodman <- INCOMING
4. Armin Pecsi (understudy? u21?)
5. Vitezslav Jaros <- loaned, 1st gk @ Ajax

As highlighted by Pearce in passing, notice the shrewd move of bringing Woodman on a free transfer, without taking up a non-homegrown CL place of the 17 places allowed by UEFA rules.

Make no mistake, the heirs of a legacy colonial sensibility would absolutely love to weed out Mohamed Salah as well.

They couldn't. But it wasn't for lack of trying. Salah only had to be exceptional for 8 straight years just to get a fraction of the praise handed to MCFC’s Norwegian striker — who, in footballing terms, has never matched his completeness or consistency.

I'm over it, although England probably shouldn't be if it wants to join the future.

There’s still a legacy colonial sensibility in how players like Darwin are perceived — where difference isn’t valued, it’s pathologised. Passion becomes a flaw. Power becomes recklessness. But he’s a champion, and that truth should speak louder than the lens.

@sampw Or possibly, they understood exactly the kind of threat that he could be, and that's precisely the reason that psychological warfare had to be deployed against him, to weed out the threat to another league. The character assassination has worked.

I still believe that it wouldn't have worked without the convincing of distracted Liverpool tories who understand nothing about what we're up against, or what we stand for.

Darwin will be fine, he will be a champion again next season.

Dreamy offseason for #LFC. Wirtz, Frimpong, and Kerkez are all terrific, youthful replacements/upgrades. Frimpong/Bradley should be fascinating... start determined by the matchup?

Expecting to see Robbo exit. End of an era for one of my favs. 😢

Elliott too, who Slot won't give preference in a crowded midfield. Hughes has to love that he's seemingly on a grudge showcase tour for the U21 England Euros team. 📈

Nunez will go and do well on a counterattacking team. Cult hero, but inconsistent.
